Wow! The pace is picking up in 3rd grade! This week they met Mr. Arney, our chess instructor and started with the basics of chess. They completed a
Numbers of Me Project where they calculated their age in dog years, figured out how much they would weigh on another planet, were introduced to square roots, and measured using the metric system. At the end of the day they were introduced to a GT mascot of sorts - Fred (the gummy worm). The poor little guy is always getting into trouble. Today students needed to get him to wear his life preserver. Students used their communication and collaboration skills and a think tank strategy to save him. Though I have a feeling Fred will end up needing their help again soon! Take a peek at our day.
